CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - The Dark Room: a group exhibition celebrating alternative process and analogue photography
The Dark Room exhibition is part of the 2012 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival

closing reception and talks: Thursday, May 10 from 6-9pm

EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION:
The Dark Room is a magical space where alchemy transforms photo paper into a tangible image from the depths of one's imagination. This group exhibition brings together artists working with photography, who are testing the boundaries of analogue media and alternative processes in a digital age. Juried by representatives from 918 Bathurst, Lonsdale Gallery, and Gallery 44, this exhibition creates a forum to showcase many processes of analogue and alternative process photography.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Deadline March 16, 2012 by 5pm
Photographers working in analogue and/or alternative processes are invited to submit work for potential inclusion in “The Dark Room” exhibition. No other media will be considered. Examples of analogue or alternative photographic technologies include: 35 mm photography, pinhole, collodion/wet plate, silver gelatin, platinum prints, camera obscura, lomography, photograms, etc. If you have questions about the media, please email us at: info@contact918.com
The jury consists of representatives of 918 Bathurst, Lonsdale Gallery, and Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography.
Submissions will be accepted only via email to: submissions@contact918.com
All Submissions must include:
1.Completed Submission Form (available for download here: Submission Form, Rules, More Info )
2.A maximum of 3 jpeg or tiff images of the work (maximum file size of 500KB per image)
3.If applicable, an artist CV (maximum 2 pages, doc or PDF format) or 100 word biography
4.$30 CDN non-refundable Submission Fee via Paypal or interac email money transfer
